Chocolate Chip Lace Cookies

2 Jul

There are many, many (MANY) ways to make chocoloate chip cookies. Here’s another. In honor of the 4th I thought I would share a different take on the CCC– they’re a little lighter than traditional cookies but they’ll disappear just as quickly…

Chocolate Chip Lace Cookies

Makes: approximately 3 dozen

Preparation Time: 20 minutes

Cooking Time: 10 minutes

2/3 cup flour

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/2 cup rolled oats (old-fashioned oatmeal)

1 1/2 sticks sweet unsalted butter, softened

2/3 cup light brown sugar

2/3 cup white sugar

1 large egg, lightly beaten

2 cups chopped pecans or walnuts

2/3 cup chocolate chips

Preheat the oven to 350°F.

Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Combine in a bowl the flour, salt, and oats.

In mixing bowl cream the butter with the sugar, then add the egg.

Stir the flour mixture into the creamed mixture and add the nuts and chocolate chips.

Drop the dough by teaspoonfuls onto the parchment paper-covered baking sheet.

Bake the cookies at 350° for 8 to 10 minutes.
