My husband and I under the chuppah at our Jewish wedding.
A huge part of “Jewish Cooking Boot Camp” is the idea of showing your love and appreciation for your family and friends through food. Whether it’s a full holiday dinner or just a simple dessert, it’s always a great way to connect with the people who matter–Jewish or not. In fact, when I wrote JCBC I made sure to make it as welcoming and non-judgmental as possible, so that Jews (or non-Jews!) from any level of observance would feel comfortable picking it up and testing it out.
A few months ago I guest-blogged for the fabulous Jewcy.com about this very subject. A few weeks later I was approached by another great organization called Interfaithfamily.com, a site that offers help and resources for interfaith families who want to be a part of the Jewish community, to write something for them. The result is here. Food has always been a big part of bringing my family together and I was excited to share the story of how it helped us make our small family a little bit bigger…
